“Taking a break can lead to breakthroughs.” ― Russell Eric Dobda
HOLA my beautiful Bacon Lover’s . . . I’mmmm BAAACCCKKK !!!
As you know I was 20 lbs away from my goal weight when I launched my blog in October 2018 and after a tremendous 25 lbs holiday weight gain, I was feeling stuck, disappointed and beyond frustrated. Things, that in the past, were great kick starters for me were not producing the same results, due to lack of focus, lack of discipline, lack of effort, age and a lifetime of putting my body through yoyo diets. To be honest, my head just wasn’t in the game and I need to take a breather to regroup and refocus.
I want to thank you all for your love, support and patience with me as I worked through this mental block. I am happy to report . . . MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. I’m feeling refreshed, energized and ready to continue to share my weight loss journey, the highs, the lows, the good, the bad and the ugly and hopefully inspire and entertain you along the way.
So what have I been up to WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING …
If you follow me on social media @mylifeafterbacon, you know I kicked off a pretty intense food and fitness challenge called THE 4 WEEK SHRED, a program designed by fitness and nutrition guru “The Sculpted Vegan” I have toyed with plant based eating many times in my life but it’s never stuck. Over the past 20 years through the highs and lows of my personal health and fitness journey, I have learned that proper nutrition can fix almost anything. The challenge of course is that this never looks the same twice, meaning what works for me and my body may not work for you or be what your body needs. I am a firm believer that if your body is experiencing unpleasantness or pain in any way it’s likely caused by 1 of 2 things . . .
#1 – something you ARE eating
#2 – something you’re NOT eating
During my brief sabbatical I enjoyed sleeping late and logged lots long walks with my love and my sweet CoCo Valentine. I also got to surprise my friends at their birthday party and enjoy a beautiful long weekend in Siesta Key with my bestie and last but not least, I took out my mermaid extensions and am learning to embrace my natural, wild, curly hair.
TOTALLY WINNING
Over the past 4 weeks I got MOJO back and have been kicking ass and taking names. More importantly I am producing results and inching closer and closer to my goal weight of 185 lbs. Next week will be my BIG REVEAL where I promise to share all the deets, my before and afters pics and measurements along with how I survived without meat, cheese and BOOZE !!!
Love, Lashes and Lipstick
Xoxo,
BC
